Former Colts offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo has been in the news of late over his recent firing.

It surprised a lot of folks out there.

Quenton Nelson, an offensive guard for the Colts, wanted to clear up rumors and speculation surrounding his former position coach. Nelson made it clear he still has DeGuglielmo's back.

Nelson is alluding to the huge controversy surrounding DeGuglielmo's release from the organization. One rumor is that DeGuglielmo was very hard to work with and constantly put his players down.

Nelson refutes that by stating that he was a great person who unified the Colts offensive line.

The Colts offensive line gave up 56 sacks during the regular season in 2017, which made them one of the worst units in the NFL. This year under DeGuglielmo, the Colts offensive line gave up 18 sacks. There's no denying the tremendous turnaround made by the big fellas up front.

For now, DeGuglielmo will be looking for a new job. But, if he needs someone to put in a good word for him, it looks like Nelson won't hesitate in doing so.
